KPMA yearns to be portrayed as a town hall meeting of pharmaceutical representatives, where raw opinions of representatives can be heard, compiled, projected and forwarded to those who can make changes happen to accelerate enhancement of healthcare system in Korea. KPMA thus far acted as a channel for opinions of pharmaceutical representatives so related laws and regulations in line with ICH guidelines can be implemented or enforced for good review practice for drug registration and for fair reimbursement listing and pricing.

KPMA is also an education center, training experts in the field to be equipped with the latest trends and regulations of the pharmaceutical industry. KPMA works closely with KFDA and MOHW(Ministry of Health & Welfare) and other associated government bodies to maximize results of its training offerings so member companies can derive the most benefits.

KPMA believes in humanitarian causes of pharmaceutical industries. By donating pharmaceutical products to citizens of North Korea as well as other developing countries, the association does not only stop at helping out residents of Korea but to all those in need.

KPMA considers trust and integrity to be the major pillars that support the industry. Adoption of CP(Compliance Programs) and enforcement of Fair Competition Codes are just examples of measures the association is taking to ensure credibility of the member companies as well as of the Association..

KPMA stands behind its member companies and will fight for their fair rights to competition; some inconsistencies in Insurance Reimbursement Policies were exposed and recommendations to introduce fairer amendments to the policy were sent. The association also supports its member companies to be granted fair drug prices for their products.

KPMA enforces standardizations across all levels of pharmaceutical R&D. Recently, GMP upgrades were made mandatory and KFDA is supporting pharmaceuticals that need assistance in achieving the upgrade.

KPMA supports implementing drugs safety management measures by providing the safety information service to help the KFDA mandatory drug re-evaluation applications.

KPMA archives statistical date from compiled information from manufacturer's manufacturing status reports. Such data is used to generate relevant reports of status quo of Korean pharmaceutical industry.

KPMA also acts as a Public relations front in increasing awareness of the significance of pharmaceutical industry in contributing to their overall healthcare.

KPMA hosts international conferences and collaborates with international organizations or institutions to establish foreign pharmaceutical network. In addition, the Association sets up aid and support for export of member companies' products
